Jana Koteich

My research interests lie in the area of wireless and IoT networking, with a focus on technologies such as WiFi, LoRa, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). I am particularly interested in ad hoc and decentralized networks, protocol design, and the analysis of large-scale wireless measurements.

My work combines statistical and data-driven approaches to study mobility, spatio-temporal patterns, and network behavior from real-world datasets, with applications in routing, localization, and large-scale sensing systems.

Beside my major, I have a special interest in astronomy. I read books on the subject for the aim of seeing and understanding this universe from a scientific fascinating perspective. My first inspiration was Carl Sagan, when I started with his book Cosmos.

As far as I am interested in the scientific research, I am also interested in Art. You can say that I am a self-taught painter (but still not professional ;) check some of my paintings here), and a beginner violinist, I do knitting sometimes, and always curious to try any new artistic hobby🧑‍🎨.  Last but not least, I LOVE sport (SO MUCH), I run (road and trail runs), play ultimate, do bouldering, play tennis from time to time, Badminton, and I used to be a professional Handball player. Always keen to try new sports, probably I am preparing myself to be a real athlete one day, because why not😉.
